Hervey Bay
Longtail and mack tuna in Platypus and the central bays, trevally on the deeper reefs, queenfish on the flats along the western side of Fraser Island, grassy sweetlip and coral trout on the inshore reefs, flathead and grunter bream in the creeks that run off Sandy Straits, mangrove jack, grunter bream and barramundi in the Burrum River and threadfin salmon, barramundi and grunter bream in the Mary River.

Rainbow Beach
Red emperor, snapper, tuskfish, hussar, sweetlip, cod, coral trout, pearl and moses perch about 15-20nm NE of Wide Bay Bar.

Maroochydore
Bream throughout the Maroochy River, sand whiting near the entrance to Twin Waters, trevally on the making tide at the Cod Hole, flathead upstream from Bli Bli, mangrove jack in the creeks and it would be worth setting a few pots for mud crabs.

Snapper, tuskfish and mackerel at Caloundra 12 Mile and the Barwon Banks, bream at night along the beaches and in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River and mangrove jack at night in the upper reaches.

Spanish mackerel on the inshore reefs; although sharks are a problem, bream, whiting and flathead along the beaches, bream, flathead, whiting and sand crabs in Pumicestone Passage, trevally around the bridges in the canals and mangrove jack and mud crabs in the creeks.

Spotty mackerel in NW channel, longtail tuna off the NE tip of Bribie Island, flathead off Sandstone Point and at Red Beach, mangrove jack in the canals, grassy sweetlip around the Bribie Bridge and sand crabs in the main channel.

Redcliffe Peninsula
Spotty mackerel and longtail tuna around the shipping beacons, school mackerel, trevally and threadfin salmon in Bramble Bay, bream and small snapper on the inshore reefs, school mackerel, trevally and queenfish off the Woody Point jetty, bream, flathead and whiting along Scarborough and Newport foreshores, flathead along Clontarf foreshores, in Hays Inlet and off the Hornibrook jetty, bream, flathead and mud crabs in the Pine River and mangrove jack and estuary cod in the canals.

School mackerel around the shipping beacons in the northern bay, longtail tuna off Tangalooma and near the old four beacons, snapper on North Reef and off Woody Point jetty, sand whiting on the making tide along Golden Beach and mud crabs in the lower reaches of the rivers and creeks.

After heavy rain this week, there is a lot of fresh coming down the river and the best place to fish is near the mouth on the flooding tide where the clean water meets the fresh. Expect to catch bream, flathead and trevally.

Wyaralong Dam
Bass on blades, soft plastics and crank baits near the timber towards the Vineyards and Crows Creek arm. Plenty of carp and tilapia on worms throughout the dam; carp and tilapia are a noxious pest fish and should not be released if caught; please dispose in the bins provided.
