FLOODING HAS EASED ALONG THE HERBERT RIVER

No significant rainfall has been observed since 9am Monday morning and no significant rainfall is forecast for Thursday.
There are currently no river level observations available for Gleneagle (manual station), but based on the nearby Gleneagle automatic station the river level is expected be around 4.6 metres and falling. The river level at Gleneagle is expected to fall below the minor flood level (4.50 m) Thursday morning.

RIVER LEVELS HAVE EASED BELOW THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL AT HUNGERFORD

No significant rainfall has been recorded in the catchment since Monday last week.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible during the next few days, but no widespread significant rainfall is expected.
The Paroo River at Hungerford is currently at 0.99 metres (below minor) and falling slowly. The Paroo River at Hungerford is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.00 m) and continue falling slowly.

No significant widespread rainfall is expected in the catchment area during the next few days. The Bulloo River at Thargomindah is currently at 3.51 metres (below minor) and slowly rising. The Bulloo River at Thargomindah will remain below the minor flood level (4.00 metres).

Final Flood Warning for the Thomson River

River levels have eased below the minor flood level (2.0 m) on the Thomson River at Camoola Park.

No significant rainfall has been recorded for the last few days. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday over the Barcoo River and parts of the upper Thomson River catchments, but no widespread significant falls expected.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park was at 1.65 metres at 6:00 am Wednesday and falling. The Thomson River at Camoola Park will remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Wednesday.

RIVER LEVELS REMAIN ABOVE THE SPRINGVALE DIAMANTINA LAKES ROAD CAUSEWAY

River level rises are expected along the Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes, as the floodwaters move downstream.

No significant rainfall has been recorded since Monday last week in the Diamantina River catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

The next warning will be issued by 03:00 pm EST on Friday 26 February 2021.

MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE AT MARION DOWNS NEXT WEEK

River level rises in upper parts of the catchment are moving downstream, from rainfall last week.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the catchment area for the next few days.
There are currently no observations for Marion Downs, but the river level is expected to be below the minor flood level (3.00 m). The Georgina River at Marion Downs may reach the minor flood level (3.00 m) early next week.

The next warning will be issued by 04:00 pm EST on Friday 26 February 2021.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Lower Flinders River

MODERATE FLOODING IS POSSIBLE AT WALKERS BEND

River level rises from rainfall last week in upper parts of the Flinders River catchment are moving downstream.
Rainfall totals of between 20 - 50 mm were recorded in lower parts of the Flinders River catchment area from shower and thunderstorm activity in the 24 hours to 9 am Thursday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the catchment area over the next few days.
The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is currently at 3.97 metres (below minor) and rising slowly. The Flinders River at Walkers Bend is likely to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Friday, and may reach the moderate flood level (5.30 m) Saturday morning.

The next warning will be issued by 12:00 pm EST on Friday 26 February 2021.

Initial Flood Watch for the North Tropical Coast between Mission Beach and Rollingstone

Minor to moderate flooding is possible in the Flood Watch area from Saturday. A tropical low in the Coral Sea is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the Flood Watch area. The area of heavy rainfall is expected to extend to the flood watch area from Friday morning. Catchments in the Flood Watch area have recorded 150 - 300 mm in the last 7 days and are saturated. River levels are still elevated from recent flooding and are likely to respond quickly to further rainfall. Daily rainfall totals of up to 130 mm are forecast from Friday in the flood watch area from shower and thunderstorm activity. Isolated higher totals in excess of 150 mm are possible. Localised flooding and disruption to transport routes are expected throughout the Flood Watch area from Saturday.
